December is doing the most again, isnāt it? If your life looks anything like mine, you went from Thanksgiving vibes straight into YEAR-END FRENZY. (How does this happen every year?) And while we canāt make the chaos go away (because, honestly, thatās the way the universe trends), we can show up with a little less overwhelm and a little more ease. BUT HOW THO??!?!?!?! My biggest secret to not losing your sh!t this December: do less and simplify EVERYTHING. Consider this your official permission slip! (My own actual real-life moment: I had a "10 Things to Remember" list ready for you today and then I was like: Tiff, BE THE LIGHT YOU WANT TO SEE IN THIS WORLD.) The grand irony of the holiday season we're all running ourselves ragged for? The key to being festive and celebrating is YOU BEING PRESENT. Hereās what that might look like:
The magic of this season isnāt in how hard you've worked or how many things you juggle. Itās in how present you can get: laughter, eye contact, connection, creativity. Being with your people. And hereās the thing: when you give yourself permission to simplify, youāre also giving everyone else permission to do the same. Youāre leading the way by showing that joy doesnāt come from the to-do list. It comes from the space you create for it. OKAY BUT WHAT IFā¦ā Sure, you can do that. As long as you also decide what youāre willing to give up to make it happen. Maybe it means youāre bringing a store-bought pie to the neighborhood potluck. Thatās fine. Really. Because hereās the truth: You canāt be the best at all of it. You canāt be the hostess with the mostess and the classroom volunteer and the work superstar. So, simplify like your peace depends on itābecause it does. Give yourself permission to choose what matters most, and let the rest slide. Joy demands space to breathe. Have a but how do I simplify this!? dilemma? Hit reply to let me know and I'll help brainstorm! PS. Another way to make your life better and easier this holiday season? These fleece-lined leggings. I'm living in mine! PPS. We just finished Season One of Bad Sisters. IT IS SO GOOD. |

Hi hi Reader, Iāve got some good news and some bad news, Sweets: This is your love story. Iām not talking about your marriage. Or your kids. Or even that stranger you locked eyes with at Trader Joeās over the almond croissants in the freezer section (spoiler: get them. Theyāre amazing.) Those people count too, but thatās not what this email is about. This email is about you. Your life. THIS life. This TODAY life. The one youāre living while you read this, right now. Because THIS is your love...
Hi hi Reader, Happy Valentine's Day! Which means: Happy birthday to my two sweet girls. They're 11. ELEVEN. WHAT?!?! What this means right now is that I've had 11 years of Valentine's/Birthday celebrations! And yet, it always feels brand new. Very "wherever you go, there you are," isn't it? Speaking of... on Wednesday I did a weight-lifting workoutāmy first after a couple weeks off due to catching a gnarly cold and then heading to CA for my retreat. And as I faced down Wednesday's Bulgarian...
Hi hi Reader, It's Word of the Year time. (Yes, I'm still doing this practiceāover a decade and counting!) Do you remember 2013 when I picked adventure and ended up pregnant with twins? š³š Turns out, adventure had some plans of its own. This year, though, my word hits a little differently. But First: Letās Acknowledge This Week Iām not a political commentator. Iām not an activist. And itās easy for me to think my job is just to keep my head down and do my work. BUT ALSO? I know that every...
